Nehemiah 9:32

God is a Covenant God

• Covenants are binding agreements God makes with man.
• God always keeps His covenants, Nehemiah 9:32.
• The first covenant God made with man was in Eden.
• Genesis 1:26-27, 2:8-9,16-17.
• Obedience/Eternal life; Disobedience/Death.
• Other covenants are God reaching out to restore mankind.
• Salvation promised from Abraham to Jesus, Heb. 7:21-22.

A Church Covenant is a Commitment to God

• Based on a genuine relationship with God, Romans 10:9-10.
• To covenant with a church is to covenant with God.
• A covenant reflects a life of faith, Jeremiah 31:31-33.
• These are the covenant agreements for CIBC
• I will do my best to live by the Great Commandment of Mark 12:30.
• I will do my best to faithfully support this church through my attendance, participation, and gifts according to Hebrews 10:24-25.
• I will do my best to be a disciple, a faithful follower of Christ who is committed to growing spiritually, to sharing the gospel, and to helping others live as disciples according to Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:19-20.
• I will do my best to live within this church family in an attitude of love and forgiveness, following the instructions of Paul to the church in Ephesians 4:1-3.
• I will do my best to live an open and active life of faith in the world that reflects the presence of God within me, understanding that according to Ephesians 2:10, this is the kind of life for which I was created.

• Will you help each other live in covenant?
